Re|engage is a marriage ministry that originated in Dallas, Texas at Watermark Church in 2008. The desire at the time and since has been to give married couples a toolbox and teach them how to use the tools, saturated in gospel truth, and looking to the Holy Spirit to do the work. It is meant to reduce the strain that naturally occurs in church settings of the leadership being needed to handle all marital conflict that arises. The material is not complex, but it is powerful. The layout is a short chapter each week with a lesson and questions for each spouse to consider and write answers to, along with scripture and prayer points. Before meeting in the small group setting couples talk about their answers together. On a very basic level this begins to give deeper talking points, improve communication, and gives a venue for talking about hard things. There is so much hope when we recognize we are not the only ones struggling with certain things!

Each week we meet together, meeting in a larger group setting to open in prayer, sing a hymn together, and watch a testimonial or teaching video from Watermark’s resources. Once the group time is over we will split into our smaller groups (5-6 couples, including the facilitating couple) to enjoy a short time of snacks and fellowship. We then jump into a couple sharing their testimony (the first week is your facilitating couple sharing their testimony and you are given a general idea of how to prepare to share yours during the semester) and then diving into the weekly questions. We look to the Holy Spirit to be doing the work using God’s Word to convict and do the work of changing each of us

Mark your calendar and ready to join our church family for our FALL PARTY. After smoked meats last year, we are returning to a Chili Cook-off🌶️. We will also continue our Pie Bake-off, the trophy now named in loving memory of Courtney Driver, our 2019 winner ❤️.

Saturday, November 1 (We get an extra hour of sleep that night)

at Windy Gap Elementary School (465 Truman Hill Rd, Hardy, VA 24101 , 12.5 miles, 26-minute drive from the church)

We gather in the school cafeteria for food and fellowship, but then we expand out to the grounds for fun and games. There are fields, basketball court and playground nearby.
