shining the light of Jesus
in knowing and following Him
Atop our church building shines "JESUS SAVES," one of Roanoke’s iconic, neon signs. Jesus declares, "I am the light of the world" (John 8:12). To his followers, Jesus says,“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden… let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven" (Matt. 5.14-16). In this is both our name and life together - shining as light in this city and beyond.
For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,”
has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge
of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
